Amethysts are beautiful crystals to work with and can be found in almost any crystal, metaphysical, holistic rock and gem type of store. They are one of the common “staples” of a crystal healing kit for any type of practitioner, beginner through advanced. Amethyst is a variety of quartz and come in shades of violet and purple. They are not to be confused with a purple quartz.
Amethyst, due to its color and vibrational frequency, works best with the upper chakras and upper physical body issues. These can range from simple headaches, migraines, psychic intuition, dream recall, clarifying issues, insomnia, selflessness issues, spirituality connection, nightmares, quieting the mind, meditation, and even issues dealing with sobriety. As you can see the list can continue, as Amethyst has a direct link to the mind and one’s inner soul. For the physical body, as well, it can boost the immune system, increase the production of hormones, help balance out one’s metabolism, and aids in the circulatory system.
When working with Amethyst, make sure you state your goals and intention with your work very clearly. This crystal will not only help quiet things down for your work but will also bring about a less scattered feel to any energy issues that are at hand during the session.
Simple exercises for Amethyst are placing one under a pillow before sleeping to help reduce insomnia. You can also place three around the head area when an onset of headache starts to alleviate the pain and return to a balanced state of being. You can also combine Amethyst and other crystals or gemstones for working on issues with your own personal life as well as sessions you are providing for your clients!

Amethyst and Headaches?
I have had a lot of questions lately about headaches and what can be done.
The first thing - RELAX. I know this is the hardest thing to do when you have a headache as sometimes you can't see past the pain, but remember right now in this moment you are complete, whole and one with all, so if you can relax into the moment and past the pain this will dissolve.
Now I know this may seem hard at first, so this is when we can introduce the healing crystal Amethyst into our own session.
Many people use this differently and there is no right or wrong way to use this. Here are a few examples of how to use this crystal for the use of headaches:
1. Place the crystal underneath your pillow while you rest of sleep.
2. Make an elixir of this stone to drink with a water base. You can do this with a physical stone or using the ethric energies of this stone to charge the water.
3. You can have someone/yourself do a crystal healing session with either a physical crystal or its etheric counterpart.
Amethyst has wonderful healing propertieis for headaches and should be placed on the etheric field in the third eye, and on a physical field in the middle of your forehead.
Ask the crystal to remove the source of pain and to tranform this into positive healing light and release this to the universe. Crystals are more then willing to help us on our healing pathway in life!
